On some Windows systems the CM service cannot be started

On some systems, after having installed the Windows version of CMS Fiona 6.6.1, the Content Management Server (CM) cannot be started (Id: 11163). The reason for this is that the Version Comparison Wizard fails to initialize on these systems causing the start of the CM to be aborted.

Solution

In the registry entries below specify as the value of CSDiffPath the actual path of the CSDiff tool. Then save them in a file with the extension .reg and double-click this file in Windows Explorer:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\ComponentSoftware]
[HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\ComponentSoftware\CSDiff]
"CSDiffPath"="C:\\Programs\\Infopark\\CSDiff-5.0"
"CSDiffOpt"=dword:47555360
"CSDiffFlg"=dword:00000001

Finally, start the CM service via the services menu of the Windows control panel, or run the command rc.npsd.bat start CM from within the bin directory of the instance.
